King Charles has asked Harry to stop divulging royal secrets after 'Spare' release, claims royal expert
LONDON, ENGLAND: King Charles has allegedly asked Prince Harry not to divulge any more family secrets following the furor the Duke of Sussex caused thanks to his memoir ‘Spare’ and various interviews.
Royal expert Tom Quinn recently revealed to The Mirror that following the publication of his memoir, the British monarch has allegedly asked his younger son not to leak any more secrets of the royal family.
The controversial memoir not only provided insights into the Duke of Sussex’s life but also forayed into the secret territory of royal life.
King Charles asked Prince Harry not to reveal royal secrets
During a recent interview with The Mirror, royal expert Tom Quinn claimed, “Harry has been asked directly by his father not to write or say publicly anything further about the family or his brother [Prince William] that might cause trouble."
Quinn added, “And everyone knows that when a King asks you to do something, there are going to be consequences if you do not obey.”
“Over the years that Harry has complained about his treatment by his family, he has had just one aim—to get an apology and to see his father and brother make amends,” added the expert.
He continued, “Harry just can’t see that complaining in private might work; complaining publicly just makes things worse and, in Harry’s case, that means more and more ties to his past being severed.”
Apart from his popular memoir, Harry and his wife Meghan Markle’s sensational 2021 interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021 also made things worse between them and the royal family.
The Sussexes releasing the documentary ‘Harry & Meghan’ in 2022 didn't help either.
Harry has previously shared that he has enough material for the second volume of his memoir, but Quinn believes if he ultimately writes one, that would end his relationship with the rest of the royal family.
Quinn told the outlet, “Publication of a new book with yet more revelations about fights and bullying would certainly put an end, finally, to Harry’s relationship with his family, even though there isn’t much of that relationship left, anyway.”
Prince Harry keen to mend the relationship
A source close to the Duke of Sussex, however, shared while talking to OK! Magazine that the Montecito duke wants to “put an end to the feud” and “regrets the way that things have turned out," per Marie Claire. Previously, he was also reportedly upset over the fact that his children had to miss the royal family's Easter celebration.
In February, a source close to Harry shared with the outlet, "Harry wants to spend more time in the UK and bring the children over to be with their grandparents and cousins, but he will have to prove himself first. That's been made very clear to him."
"Meghan doesn't want anything to do with it and is keen to stay away from England, but Harry is of the opinion that he must repair the damage that has been caused," added the source.
Royal expert Jennie Bond further opined that the main inspiration behind his desire to mend the relationship is his children - Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, per Daily Express.
